The specialty of orthodontics is a mixture of science and art says Dr Amy Lee Yen-Ping

Science is my academic strength, and art has always been my passion in life. I offer both scientific and aesthetic opinions for my patients, allowing them to achieve outstanding results while improving their dental, facial, and skeletal health. While overcoming challenges in orthodontics is certainly satisfying, my true reward comes from the friendships I’ve created with my patients.

My journey into the field of orthodontics began on a very personal note. As an adolescent, my orthodontic treatment changed my life immeasurably. Not only did the aesthetics of my smile improve, but my confidence improved as well.

In order to give others the same amazing orthodontic experience I had, I entered dental school at Yang-Ming Medical School in Taipei, Taiwan, earning my Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

After my dental school education, I received orthodontic residency training in Taipei Veterans General Hospital. After coming to the United States, I furthered my education and received my orthodontic training and Master of Oral Biology degree at the University of California-San Francisco.

On top of my formal education, I was also trained through courses from Invisalign®, Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontists, and The Andrews Foundation. I also continued my training in most of the yearly AAO and PCSO meetings. I am excited to learn new things and bring advanced technology into the office in order to provide my patients with the most efficient and effective care.

I am a member of the  American Dental Association California Dental Association American Association of Orthodontists Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Mid-Pennisula Dental Society Outside the Office I am originally from Taiwan and speak fluent Taiwanese and Mandarin. I now live in Palo Alto with my husband, Dr. Ming Yeh, a prosthodontist. We have one son. When I’m not in the office I enjoy gardening, taking in art and architecture, and traveling.
