Master of Dental Medicine at Geneva:

offers in-depth training in the following fields: preventative dental medicine, oral medicine and pathology, oral surgery, dento-maxillo-facial radiology, cariology, endodontics, dental care for children, orthodontics, fixed prosthesis, gnathology, periodontics, dental biomaterials, gerodontology and partial dentures. This course offers a pathway to the Federal Diploma in Dental Surgery.

In accordance with the law on health-care professions (LpMed), all examinations take place on a faculty level, with the exception of those that take place after conferral of the Master's degree, which are federal and common to all Swiss medicine faculties (Federal Examination in Human Medicine - EFMH).

The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Microinvasive Aesthetic Dentistry is an advanced continuing education programme in this field offered by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. It is based on the latest scientific and clinical research and offers a theoretical and practical programme of high quality. It is intended for practitioners aiming to perfect themselves and be able to meet the current national and international technological criteria linked to the rapid and irreversible evolution of our profession. This continuing training is currently the only of this type in Switzerland. It is accredited by the Swiss Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assurance – AAQ.

The MAS programme consists of on-site courses at the University of Geneva, distance learning and practical work (at the candidate private’s office or at the University of Geneva). The teaching is given in French and English. It is sanctioned by intermediate and final examinations and allows the acquisition of 60 ECTS credits.

The Department of Cariology and Endodontics of the University of Geneva, directed by the Prof. Ivo Krejci, is proud to present you his post graduated program in Aesthetic and Microinvasive dentistry.

Objectives-

The aim of this 2 years, half-time work program is to provide a master level learning experience fo every participants, producing highly proficient practicians with knowledge, skills and experience in the topic.- Promote excellent practice amongst dentists with the newest microinvasives concepts into the field of aesthetic dentistry: beautiful smiles for our patients but with the full respect of natural tissues. Specially attention would be emphasizes on the most advanced and modern digital technologies that are nowadays available in order to achieve the best result.

- Develop advanced skills and be able to meet national and international technological criteria associated with the rapid ongoing changes in the profession.

Audience:

Dentists in private practice in Switzerland or abroad (external candidates) and dentists practising at the University of Geneva (internal candidates).

Programme3 specific modules:

basic, specialised I and specialised IIJournal Club and seminars (Every Wednesday morning)18 clinical cases to prepare and present Thesis and publication.

This programme was awarded unconditional accreditation by the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (AAQ).

Dental Medicine:

This doctorate only concerns candidates holding a diploma in human or dentist medicine. It cannot be started before obtaining the diploma or an equivalent degree. It must usually be undertaken during the clinical specialisation period or during an internship in clinical or basis research.

Microinvasive Aesthetic Dentistry:

The Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Microinvasive Aesthetic Dentistry is an advanced continuing education program in this field offered by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva. It is based on the latest scientific and clinical research and offers a theoretical and practical program of high quality.

After having obtained the federal or cantonal diploma in human or dental medicine, physicians pursue their training by undertaking assistant physician activities within various hospital services, in dental medicine or in basic medical research.
