The University of Iowa College of Dentistry offers a DDS degree and instruction in several other programs that can lead to a master's or a PhD degree in the field of dentistry. In fact, the College of Dentistry is one of only a small number of dental schools with advanced programs in all specialty areas.

The UI College of Dentistry is the only dental school in the nation to offer advanced education in all dental specialties as well as residencies in operative and hospital dentistry.

The college’s comprehensive Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program prepares students to begin professional dental practice immediately after graduation. The program, which requires completion of at least 90 semester hours of college-level course work prior to admission, accepts 80 new students each fall.

The University of Iowa College of Dentistry is the dental school of the University of Iowa. It is located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. It is the only dental school in Iowa and is one of only two dental colleges in the United States to offer all the American Dental Association (ADA) accredited dental specialty training programs. It is consistently rated as a top dental school in the country with strong clinical training and research exposure for dental students. Several Iowa alumni serve in leadership positions in academics and in organized dentistry.

University of Iowa College of Dentistry was established in 1882. It is the third oldest surviving dental school west of the Mississippi River.
